Is it a light at the end of the tunnel or it it just some bastard with a torch bringing me more work ? Well, I actually think this might be nearly the end of the tunnel ! Our new Millington engine is installed and almost ready to start. The car is finished and we are just waiting for the primaries to come back from having their heat-shields made up.

Another big day in Maxi Land. Today the car went back on the road and drove 10 miles to its MOT. It's now taxed and reday to run ..... well, almost ! A slight mixture issue at full boot means that there is a bit more work to do on tuning, but we are very close now.

Our entry for Tour of Cornwall has been accepted. The rally is a shadow of its former self as its just one day and no nights stages. Rather than moan about this though, I think we should just be grateful that its even running. Venues are becoming like hens teeth and we should try and support any threatended venues. We are very much looking forward to making the very long journey down to Cornwall and getting out there again.

John Indri's regular co-driver Dave Engwell has agreed to sit in the silly seat for Tour of Cornwall and Longross - both in April.

Very sadly we have decided to draw a line under the development of our Nissan 2.5 litre V6 engine. For various reasons we have decided not to continue with it, not least of which the length of time that is still required to have it ready for competition. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank IES for all their tremendoes hard work and for making such a great engine.

We have taken delivery of our Millington 2.5 engine and will be installing it with a view to getting out this year as soon as possible.

A very good day at The Dyno today. Worked with Fraser McKellar & Roy Millington at Milington engines to convert a 2.5 Millington onto Motec with coil-per-cylinder.

A huge day for us today as after 2 years of painstaking rebuild work and parts fabrication our ex-Chatriot Maxi is up and running again. As we are unable to Dyno the engine, we went back to engine builders Mass Racing (who did the engine rebuild for us) and used their rolling road to run the engine in. The look of happyness on Stuart's (the engine builder) face when the engine fires at the first asking and then goes onto a steady idle is fantastic. See Renault Video Gallery.

Val de Terre Hillclimb, Guernsey. Having now had a chance to get the measure of JD's works Darrian, I can say that this car is very fast, and quick to get that "I can lean on the car" feeling. There are a few oddities (to me) - but no doubt JD would feel the same if he sat in my car (now there's an idea !). In Guernsey we had many more cars in the class. In end we had a tremendous battle with Kevin Rumens. Again the acknowledged expert on this hill in this class. As with Chris in Jersey, we know Kevin from a previous visit to the hill in 2004, and many visits to the Jersey rally over the last 15 years.

Kevin prepares his car beautifully and is now using a Millington engine, and Tractive sequential gearbox. We had a real nip and tuck battle all day long. In this case he was a little quicker on the hill, but we had consistently better starts. When the final run had come and gone, we had just pipped him to win the Class by 3/100ths of a second. A fantastic days motorsport on one of the best hills anywhere in the world.

Bouley Bay Hillclimb, Jersey. Rally car class. The good news is that we came second in class today. The bad news is that there were only two cars in the class. However, the man in front of us (Chris le Bonniec) is the acknowledged local expert and holds the hill record in this class. On our first visit to this hill, we finished 4/10ths of a second off Chris. It was interesting to look at the 64ft times. Chris was taking 7/10ths out of us on every start - QED, we must have been just a fraction faster than him up the hill ! A great days motorsport and an excellent battle with Chris.

Our entry to both Channel Island rounds of the British Hillclimb Championship has been confirmed today - but we have no car as our engine is in rebuild. Thank you to Darrian cars and John Dalton for lending us the Darrian works car. We look forward to sitting in JD's magic seat.
